About our photography

Back Terrace

We strive to make fantastic images. That’s our goal no matter what we’re shooting. Starting with the best equipment we leverage our expertise and technical toolbox to make it happen. Some photographers boast that they only shoot HDR - like that’s a good thing. Well, they’re missing the point. There are a lot of tools in the toolbox. HDR is one of them, but not the best for all situations. It’s a quick and dirty work around for photographers who don’t understand lighting. Snap 3 shots, run them through HDR software - BAM! Done in 30 seconds. You can do it on your phone in less time. Some HDR images look fine (depending on the lighting) but we’ve all seen those freaky colored images HDR produced when it wasn’t the right tool for the job. I can ride a tricycle in the Tour de France but it won’t get me very far…

As for us, we consider what it is that we’re shooting, how it’s lit, and what the customer wants. For a property shoot, are we shooting a kid’s bedroom or a high buck gorgeous living space, or beautiful kitchen? An apartment or estate? What’s the budget?

We can do quick & dirty, but higher end properties and commercial work will likely require more effort to do justice to what we’re looking at. We’ll use a grey card to get the colors right. We’ll tether if the client needs to see the shoot. Again, who’s the customer, what do they need, and what’s the budget – all important questions.

In addition to realtors, we enjoy collaborating with stagers, designers, contractors, businesses, and architects. We want to document the space and make it look and feel just as amazing as it is in real life. When you walk into a space you might say, “OMG this is amazing!” When you see the photograph, we want you to say the same thing.

Real Estate Photography Statistics :

(excerpted from PFRE and Tony Colangelo)

The importance of professional real estate photography to a seller or realtor.

  • 72.2% of realtors agree that high-quality photography helps them win more listings.

  • Houses with aerial footage and photographs sell 68% faster than those without visuals.

  • People who outsource photography work earn twice as much commission compared to others. However, only 35% of agents employ professional photographers.

Influence of Photography on Listing Days on the Market

  • About 32% of homes with high-quality photographs sell faster than those without visuals. Homes with a single photo spend an average of 70 days on the market, while listings with at least 20 images only stay for up to a month.

  • According to IMOTO, 88.0% of realtors agree that professional photos help increase showings and online listing views. Additionally, the majority of realtors believe interior videos are most likely to win listings.

Impact of Images on Selling Price and Value

  • Photos not only influence online views and sell faster, they can also turn those price inquiries into high sales, as professional images help sell listings 39% closer to the original price.

  • Homes with high-quality images achieve a 47% higher offer per square foot. This is why it's possible for a home listed in the $200,000 to $1 million range to sell for $3,000 to $11,000 more when they have professional photos.
