Our 360 virtual tours and packages are taken with different cameras and equipment which yield different degrees of quality, depending on your needs, the subject at hand, and your budget.

Basic/Zillow

Our basic package is shot with portable 360 cameras. They yield a good image, lower price and it’s quick. However, these cameras generally sacrifice quality for speed and there is less control over the final image:

  • Limited resolution – smaller camera sensors, lower quality lens.

  • Windows are hit or miss, on a bright day windows and other bright areas can be “blown out” (overexposed).

  • Lens flare – non-image forming light scatters through the lens or sensor.

  • Inaccurate colors or color “artifacts” reflecting off of walls, floors, ceiling.

Impact

A hybrid approach available with our Impact Package uses a mix of portable 360 cameras and up to five high quality DSLR images. DSLR equipment uses much higher quality lenses and sensors. Additionally, using DSLR allows us to incorporate flash for accurate color rendition and exposure techniques for better outdoor window views. Use DSLR for main living areas, “the money shots”, and portable 360 for other less important rooms (like spare bedrooms, non-master bathrooms, laundry, etc.).

Ultimate

Our Ultimate Package uses all DSLR for the highest quality images in gigapixel format, advanced lighting, exposure techniques and expert post processing. This higher-end package is typically ordered for high end luxury homes and businesses enhancing their online presence. It’s much higher quality than Matterport camera/images.

Virtual Tour, 3D Tour, Video Tour… or is it just a slideshow?

If you look at other photography companies you’ll see “virtual”, “3D”, or “Video” tours as a part their offerings. Closer inspection reveals that what they’re offering is really just a slideshow of the still images they’ve taken. It’s a misnomer is calling a tour “3D”. Pictures and videos in 3D format are require special glasses to perceive all three dimensions with noticeable change in depth of field throughout the view. Most virtual tours you see advertised are not really 3D. More accurately they are 360.  360 virtual tours are made with spherical cameras, which, although you can navigate in all spatial dimensions while viewing them, are displayed in two dimensions at any given time (not three).
